OpenGL 4.3 spec and Adaptive Scalable Texture Compression Extension (ASTC)

Aug.6th is the 20th anniversary for OpenGL. Khronos revealed OpenGL4.3 spec and compression texture format -ASTC in Siggraph 2012.
